Nope its all totally custom :D i went and bought all the material he needed for it and it basically consisted of a lot of 90 degree bends and a few lengths of straight pipe. Well you can have my old RC40 box if you want. It wont have the tip on it so you can get one welded on if you want and it'll still have the hangers on (although don't hold me to that, my mate might still need them). Next time i go over to the mini i'll get some pics of it.

Haha i hope people can hear me coming in mine, build the fear up in them ;)

Thanks, she has already roared into life, page 12 i think it happened on. I'm itching to fire it up with this new exhaust on. The bloke did some more on the car last night (bearing i mind i left his unit at 8pm-ish, that's dedication!!) and has got it finished up to the back box

Hello, I seen your thread on the introduction page, sounds good, is the flipfront extended or just standard length? Would be good to see another thread go up and another vtec mini born

Best of luck to you

From what i believe it is a standard flip front but having not seen the shell or the flip front yet it is hard to say..

Thanks for the input, i will put a thread up once i pick it all up.

Well the mini is back in its home :D

Not really a great deal to say so i'll let the photos do the talking

Got loads of clearance to the exhaust, managed to get it on and off the trailer without it scrapping so will lower the back end down soon. The guy who did the exhaust is called Graham Smith at GST Fabrication http://www.gstfabrication.co.uk/

Like i say his business isn't really exhausts, more farm equipment but every bit of work he does is to a very high standard. Would recommend him any day

This is a cheaky video of the new system and how it sounds. And yes i ran over my mates cycling water backpack  >_< (it survived)

Also got my roll cage. I got the car back about 5pm today and managed to get the roll cage fitted whilst the sun was out. Making the most of it i suppose :D

And thats about it. Plan on getting all my electrics sorted next weekend and then its a case of interior, arches and doors. Nearly there folks :D

Not a great deal to report but today was quite a milestone but i'll get to that in a sec

Firstly i've been tinkering away with the car and trying to refine it/sort out the massive list of little things that need doing so first i wrapped all my engine loom so its a lot neater now

Got my horn fitted, also got the expansion tank fitted properly but aint got a photo of that

ab1b1b78-ea6b-4d3f-8b29-44b937808f7e_zps

Then had to figure out a way of keeping the ecu from sliding side to side on the back bench, first i thought i would just bolt through but where its sat would mean bolting through roughly where the rear subframe is and i didnt want to go near the nice powder coating so instead welded a bolt onto the bench and bolted the ecu to that

And since then it's just been a case of sorting out my electrics and today i hit the milestone of actually getting stuff working. The loom i got made was from a guy who contracts to minisport and the loom he made me is good but made absolutely no sense at the start. So for the past 3 weeks or so it's been sat on my kitchen floor with me starring at it. I pretty much had it figured out so started feeding it into the car and plugged bits in here and modifying bits there. Anyway I thought "auch what the hell lets see if anything works" bearing in mind i still need parts for it, wired the battery in and pushed the horn and it worked!!!! I'll admit i scared the crap out of myself. So then i was like "hmmmm what else works???" So we now have horn, heater, brake test switch and lights

I was over the moon when that lot lit up, simple things eh?

Like i say i've got parts to buy before the full thing is working but i know where i am with it and shouldn't take me long to finish off all the wiring.

That's all for now

I now have fully functioning electrics.....pretty much. Got everything working that i have available so horn, lights, indicators, hazards, heater, reverse lights, brake lights, number plate light, all my dash lights plus an additional switch for the radiator fan. So i am a happy bunny at the moment, I need to buy a new wiper motor because my old one was ruined and that will conclude the electrics completely.

Not got any decent photos of the electrics but this is what the car currently looks like (oh and i do have side repeaters but haven't placed them because i want to place them in relation to the arches.....which i dont have yet)

I'm gonna have to go quiet for a while because the rainy day fund has ran dry so i'm gonna refine a few bits and wait until pay day to progress further. Next purchases are going to be inner and outer arches, interior bits and grill so i can then get the front sprayed once i'm happy with everything. It's getting frustratingly close, the temptation to take it for a long drive is overwhelming ;)

PM me your email address and i'll send you a couple of files. Pictures wont help without a massive amount of explaining but my fuse boxes are exactly the same as these files.

Looks good Keiran! Been contemplating Bike or Honda.. Honda seems better on the funds, not to mention a bit more daily friendly! Hmmmmmmm
