Hi There!

Well My name is Joseph Abela and am from Malta. I am 18 years old and still quite new to this forum and don't really know how to post photos and some other stuff.

some history of me:

Well...have been a fan of the mini since i was a little child and used to look at every mini that goes by. Got my first ride in a mini when i was about 8 or 9 ish and from that point onwards i was truly in love with the mini. About 2 years ago joined into the Malta Mini Owners Club, made a couple of friends there and started getting more interested in the mini. Started talking to a couple of enthusiasts from Gozo (the sister island of Malta) which today are best friends of mine! Then about a week ago i drove my first mini !!! (yes last week....)

After pestering my father for about 4 years that i wanted a mini, finally he gave in. He sourced one from a small village in Gozo, She's a 1977 Mini Malta Assembled with only 30 000 miles on the clock. She's in Lavender Blue, almost all original spray, except the front diver's side wing. it was replaced as there was welding marks on the a panels (where the two panels meet) and some on the front valance. Other than that she's almost 100% original. My plans for her is a full nut and bolt restoration and keeping it original as possible. Will start a build next week as i'm doing my exams at the moment.

By The Way, the mini is named Lindsay and she is going to appear in this month's issue of The MiniWorld magazine titled Barn Find!

I saw loads of nice mini's in Malta when I went 2 years ago. Maybe I saw yours? Upload a pic!

@max, will try to upload some pics now .... @steely, it's actually from Gozo, the sister island of Malta! it was taken off the road in 2004...

can you tell me how to upload a picture?

You need to resize your photo and then upload it to a photo website like Photobucket and then take the Direct Link and paste it into the Image box in the reply box.

Well that's how I do it :)

Thanks :) Good! then when you come to Gozo come and visit my mini! if you want you can come to events that the club has lined up. don't have all the details but there will definatley be a static show. take photos of all the minis you can see when you come here!!

@Steely, it's in a good nick but have some rust on the floor board (driver side) need to replace both sills, and fix up some holes, have to replace the drivers side wing and maybe the front panel. also have to replace the rear valnce and 2 a panels :)

thanks, will do that next time! it's in a good condition but as all minis they have some problems.... just a little bit of rust here and there!

hi guys, a lot of work has been done to Lindsay. did not have time to upload photos on photobucket as got tonnes of school work to do. well. from the day i bought it I started to dismantle her.

i took off all the interior, pictures of the interior will follow, removed the 30k mile engine and subframe out, rear subframe out aswell etc etc. just left with a shell. then i took out the front mudguards as i have a new genuine pair, and sent it off for grit blasting. I knew it has some rust..... the front driver floor pan is rotten and some minor rust on the rear arches. thanks to the soda blasting minor defects uncovered- both inner wings were cracked and it seems like it had a frontal accident. (minor damage) and so i have to get both new geniune heritage inner wings and front panel.
