Hi guys

Having recently sold my 1960 James Captain L20 due to learning problems (75cc over the learner limit) I decided to buy a Puch Maxi!

I found this on ebay in descent condition and I found the seat a bit nicer to look at from the normal single seater. Few bids later and it was mine!

I've decided to keep it cosmetically stock looking for the moment, but my plans are to eventually fit a 70cc kit on it =D!

Anyway, some pictures, what do you guys reckon? I'd like to know whether the numberplate is legal or not?

jb93, your not the first person to say that! when my hair was longer a few years ago, everyone called me James May, I also have similar interests to him, british bikes etc!

These things are so crap, they're cool.. Much like mini's!

I've got two. And loads of spares (if you ever need anything). Got given boxes of parts when I was 10, and built one up with the standard. 50cc engine, that only does about 25mph, and a 70cc, that does about 40mph and the standard carb and manifold.. And runs out of revs with the standard gearing.

Pretty slow, but my god are they fun, with you and your dad power sliding (or in my dads case, face planting) in a muddy field!

Yeah, I know what you mean by fun! great little machines!
Is my number plate legal as it is? I know it's on the small side, which is why I was asking!

I used to own a James Captain, but it was too big to learn on so I sold it. Great bike as well
