Okay, so i've been looking for some starmags for a while, because i think they look class

But got a couple questions, 12x6 or 13x7?

13x7 are more common i think? Currently i have a 1992 city with whatever comes standard, 12x5 i think?

What body mods will have to be done to get the 13's to fit well? (I've got some sportspack arches too!)

What effect will they make to performance? and would they make the speedo inaccurate?

Much appreciated!

personally I would go with 12x6 but you've got sportspack arches so they might not look right.
You'll have to cut the arches to make the 13's fit and probably cut them to make 12x6's fit aswell. Also rover raised the suspension when they used 13's
Shouldn't make much difference to the speedo if you change to 13's.
Going for wider wheels should give more grip.

IMHO the 12" are just so much better than the 13" - look better too.
The car will have better wet road holding on 12" and better handling in both wet & dry.

I do like the 12's just don't know what the starmags would look like under sportspack arches and only being 12"?

Anyone got a similar mini?

a 12 inch wheel and tyre is almost the same size as a 13 inch wheel and tyre

The reason the car will drive and feel better on 12" is because the tyre wall depth is deeper and helps the already small suspension travel. Also with a 175 section tyre, as on a 13", the tread area on the road is greater so the contact pressure is lower and in the wet it can be too low to clear the water from under rthe tyre.
Personally I think the 13" wheels look make it look like a 'cartoon car', but that's just my view. For normal road use the 12" wheel is probably the best option.

I have to say that I've never liked the 'feel' of any 13" wheel Mini I've driven, and I've driven a few.

I think the general rule is that cooperman is always right

12x6's do seem the better option at the moment, its just price holding me back at the moment, theres alot more 13x7's used on ebay etc, and at the moment i'm broke as :xxx:

Not always right and always learning. Look at my current thread in SPI/MPI re my engine issue. Wish I knew the answer :bah:
