I have a 1380 running a stage 3 head with 286 cam a single inch 3/4 carb eletric dizzy .I have asked this before but i have lost the info,I also need the tappet gap size and the timing setting if you could help as its hopefully off for mot after the weekend hopefully!!! THANKS WHOOOSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.Its ahd a new diplex chain kit and its running standard rockers when it was new from p&l minis.cam wa salso fitted by them i just had to fit gearbox an head.thanks for your help on this,i cant reply for some reason.thanks again !!

Assuming standard rockers set inlets to 12" thou & exhausts to 14" thou. Full lift for kent 286 is set at 106 degrees ATDC

Plug gaps are 25 thou i think..

I'd set tappets at 16 thou with such a cam and sparks at 30 thou for leccy ignition, advancing the cam at 104° seems to avoid the problem with chain stretch..now i dont know you have adj sprockets or you'll be using woodruff keys, but if using woodruffs, advance it a couple of deg more, so as long as the chain straches the timing stays perfect.

Hi its has anew diplex chain kit and is runnin standard rockers and the cam was fitted by p&l minis when it was new all i ahd to do was fit gearbox the the head.I have a timin light now and just wanted to know were the marks should flash at,so i will do plug gap at 30 thou so which setting ie best for the tappet ????????? thanks again
