I am absolutely livid atm, my blood is boiling, i was about 1/2 a mile from home, i came round a corner at perfectly acceptable speed. Someone on my side of the road was wanting to turn right out of their drive to go in the opposite direction to what i was going. They saw me coming and tried to make it but i hit them and smashed the front end. Worse thing was he got out and was making out it was my fault. He was a total c*nt (excuse my french), i'd have been perfectly happy if he had accepted it and said it was his fault but he didn't and said it was my fault. There was a pause after it happened while i had my head on my hands from sheer frustration and he was obviously chatting to his wife saying here is what we shall say. Then worst still she went in their house and pulled their son out and said he saw it too when he obviously didn't.

Their drive is the one to the right of the for sale sign...

I wouldn't have minded if he accepted it as his fault. I'd have said fair enough and fixed it at work and just got him to pay for it. But no he wouldn't be the type of guy to let me do that. I think they rand up their insurance right away. My claim line is shut til tomorrow morning. He threatened to get the police out at one point.

So yeh any advice that you can give to help me? Seeing as he is being a nob i don't want him to get away with it at all. If it was my fault i would have happily accepted responsibility. I just don't know what to say, what do you say?

You've got photo's, which is a good start. With the damage where it is on his car, I think it'd be very difficult for him to make up a plausible scenario in which it was your fault. How was he saying it's your fault?

maybe phone him up, say if he pays you to fix your own car you will fix his?? might go down better.

Well you've got step one covered- pictures!

All i can say is make sure that all parties involved are aware that their son wasn't a witness, and that she went off... and them 'talking it through' kind of thing. Also let them know that he was threatening with the police.


I'm sorry to hear about the accident, hopefully everybody was uninjured. Doesn't look too bad though- the A-panels survived (just trying to look at the positives)

its your right of way and he should have given way to you. he crossed your path thus causing an accident.

what ever you do, do not accept that they say it's your fault. it's clearly there fault for pulling off a drive, most 4x4 drivers think they own the road

i think the mini is positiones in middle due to evasive action by driver to try prevent the collision.

surely it would be nearer the kerb, not the middle of the road??

anyway the misses who works in insurance, says you need another witness to back you up, they wont take his wifes account or a passenger in your car as there are obviously going to be heavily biased.
