I had a few of my works Minis out today, these are made by the likes of Vitesse, Spark and IXO.

Latest additions to the collection> This one fell through the letter box this morning. It's a Japanese issue Spark.
This ones not a Mini, but a Cooper. It is Jack Brabham's Cooper T51 from the 1959 Monaco Grand Prix. I found it in a lot of Ferraris I brought last week.

What auctions do you go to?
_______________________________________________________________________________________
I go to auctions all over the place, mainly in the North, but I have travelled as far as Sussex. It depends how many lots I'm interested in weather I will travel or not. I do a lot of bidding live on the internet as it is quite simple just to email an auction house and ask for a condition report and more detailed pictures for the odd lot that may come up. Always check the sale terms, commission rates and postage costs first, as that £50 lot could soon turn out to cost £80 once all the charges have been added.
There are two auction houses I visit regularly, one is Astons Auctioneers in Dudley, West Midlands and the other is Vectis in Stockton, Teeside. Both have monthly toy auctions. Astons have about 6-800 lots each month and Vectis around 2,000, so there is usually quite a few things of interest.
I also subscribe to a couple of internet sites which list all the auctions up and down the country. One is Invaluable.com which will email you any action lots which match any search words you give them. My words include Diecast, Corgi, Dinky, Mini, Morris, Austin and various other makes of model and car.
Another useful website is this one
http://www.collector...-britain.co.uk/
They have listings for toy auctions and toy fairs where you should find events that are local to you.

I was amazed that I was the only bidder. I forgot about the one that ended during the week and thought that the second one finishing on Sunday would go for more. I stuck a bid of £10 over the starting price and won it. I'm sure the last time one was offered it went for about £60.
I'm waiting for the other Valtain one to get re-listed.

Newquay is a bit far for me these days.
The last time I was there was the first Run to the Sun in 1987. Here's the car I went in on Fistral Beach at sunset.
Let us know how you get on with your new toy.
