Does anyone have any tips for preventing wheel trims from falling off? The ones on my Mayfair are the plastic type with a metal ring behind, but one in particular seems to like falling off.

I know the obvious answer is cable ties, but these look a bit pants. I'm wondering whether I can come up with an ingenious solution where perhaps I glue cable ties to the back of the trims and secure them that way, but I don't want to affect balancing or make them dangerous in any way!

And no, I will not get Minilites!!!

That's why I never run with those nasty cheap-looking plastic trims. Better to paint the steel wheels silver or gloss black and run with no wheel trims IMHO.

Also cream/old english white are nice colours to paint the steel wheels.

I've seen hubcaps that fit 12's but I'm not sure if they are easy to get hold of?

Yes indeed. The early 10" wheels were generally O.E. White including the very early 10" ones which used to shear off over the wheel nuts!

I know you have dismissed the cable ties but, is that the black ones? There are clear / silver ones out there that may offer a tad more camouflage.

just cable tie the wheel trims to the steel wheel

just carry something to cut the ties off if you need to replace the wheel

I've got hold of some silver cable ties, going to see how they look but I'd prefer something covert. If there is such a thing!

I thought about painting them, but I want to keep it original and my Mayfair came with 12" black steels and trims. You can still buy replacement trims, although they are not that easy to get hold of!
