Surely thats the green light at the top? One light for both indicators?

Haha I've wondered this before as well. My orange lights don't even have anything wired up to them. Just the backlight, green indicator and high beam.

Yeah, my orange "lights" have blanking caps over the holes. I've just fitted the centre dial and i've got one wire left, the oil pressure light so wondered whether to bother wiring it or not being as i've got a separate oil pressure gauge anyway.

I think the idea is, if you wanted to, you could wire up respective indicator lamps.

I.e. when the green light flashes, it could be left or right, ive even left it on before and not been able to cancel it in a quick fluster because i didnt know what side it was. But yes, if you were to add extra wiring you could have either side flash for its respective indicator, ive done it on my dash in front of me.

Is there a way to change the little coloured plastic bits then? To me green makes more sense to be an indicator colour

They are for the oil pressure light when no gauge is fitted and the other is for oil filter warning light (ie. filter needs changing) only when the filter head has a spade terminal fitted for an electrical connection on some early models. The same centre speedo was also fitted to the Morris Minor 1000 so had to cover several options.

I think that was the set up in the van and pick up originally.

Both an oil pressure warning light and filter change light would be great, shame they never came with them wired in!
