there seems to be alot of mixed ideas on the internet about what the gap size for a NGK BP6ES spark plug should be for a mini 1000?
hope someone can shed some light

Gap incresing is necessary only if you carried igniton mods like hi voltage coil and electronic ignition, so you can benefit of a stronger spark though the wider gap.

Always check the gap. NGK does sell some pre-gapped plugs but they usually have a suffix after the 5-digit part number to indicate the gap.
With a points ignition system, start with a spark plug gap of 0.025"

Whats that in metric for us younger folk??
0.8 ish??
If you are into Minis then you must be into inch dimensions really. You also need Imperial size spanners and sockets as metric ones are simply not right for the job.

Later Minis have a lot of metric stuff on them so it's best to have both metric and imperial tools to hand.

25 thou = 0.64mm
32 thou = 0.81mm
