Hey

I know this has been covered alot but I was wondering if I should try 12 x 6 on my sportspack but the cost of 4 alloys plus tyres is quite alot for something i might not like. I personally sometimes think the 13" look too big on my car and the standard rover alloys are quite heavy. My thinking is if I go for 12 x 6 with a thicker tyre profile it might reduce the wear on suspension and possibly take a bit of harshness out the ride.

Thinking of these

Will it look gash?

Here is a pic. Not my mini but same model

I saw on here that surfblue63 has 6x12's with 165/70 which i think looks pretty good. but I can't find 6x12's with 165/70 anywhere?

Do you think that even lighter 13" are a good idea over the rover ones?

I'm not a fan of the 6x13 deep dish ultralights, as the dish doesn't look deep enough if you get what I mean?

I have 6x12 silver softline supalights on mine, and love them....

although some Force Racing splits may be on the cards in a few years ;D

Your mini looks sweet. I nearly bought a mini that colour before mine but it was in too bad shape.

What arches are those?

Another problem I have is that I should have put adjustable trumpets in when i changed the cones last week but like usual I rushed into it to get it done. Now the car is sitting pretty high so the 12"s would look odd. Have you got adjustable trumpets?

That's my car!

The tyres are 165x60 not 165x70. If I've ever said they were 70 profile then it was an honest mistake :shy:

The harsh right was reduced slightly when going from the standard Sportpack wheels to these. However, my suspension is not standard and my dampers are quite firm so yours may behave differently. I wouldn't expect a big increase in comfort however!

Tram-lining was noticeable decreased which was the biggest benefit for me. Acceleration was also improved due to the lower rotational mass. I did measure the weight difference between the wheels and whilst I can't remember the figure I know it was significant.

I'm now putting on some 10x6 Force Racing splits (albeit not with Sportpack arches) just to see what all the fuss is about!

So you don't have sports pack anymore? Where your orignal wings not cut then?

I would like to put the same wheels on but I recently had the front cones replaced by a local garage which cost a fortune even. The silly thing is I didn't get them to put hilos on so its all standard. So if I did get those tyres I wouldn't be able to lower it at all.

Part of me thinks I should play it safe and order the same colour as my Rover alloys but I really like black spokes like 80's porche style but I don't think it would match brooklands green very well. Maybe their 6x12 Anthracite Superlight Deep Dish would look better.
