I hate it when people slate others cars and projects

Totally agree, people are too easy to criticize someones hard work, when at times, like you've so clearly pointed out, don't have the basic skills to do something simple......

You hate my mini and I didn't cry or care about that.

You shouldn't slate others work and use pictures of others work to do so and then be unable to take criticism yourself.

I'm happy to know people like you don't like what I do, that makes me smile.
But make sure you are out of the greenhouse before you throw those stones.

Ok will that explains ALOT! Garrett I had no idea it was your mini you haven't even said it was yours up to this point! Had I have known this was someones on the forum then I would have taken the image straight back down. I took the photo off google images.... So yes I do not like roof chops. I wasn't PURPOSELY slating your work alone it was an example but yes sorry for appearing to be aimed at you....

All im saying is this wasnt directly at you, I used it as an image to show that it looked even lower than the standard sprint and that was a pet hate of mine etc... The reason I took it personally is because you must have had to go through alot of my post's to find the console as it was last month... Cheers for the wipe, I'm sure it will come in handy next time I kick off get premenstrual .

lol, Just proving a point is all.

That point was one of my dislikes. It didnt have to be my car for me to feel that way.
I wasn't bothered it was my car and i some ways was even flattered.

YES! This makes me laugh. So true.

I was in the mini only car park at Stanford Hall a couple of years ago, and overhead two men ripping into this actually quite nice looking mini: "arrr, look at that bit of orange peel in the paint on the boot lid", "eerrrr, aarrr, i don't like the interior", "what about that steering wheel??". They then got into a mini a couple down the row, so full of rust, the headlamps were falling out, the door skins were rusted, a panels rusted..etc. How I laughed

Garrett I really liked your Mini despite it being rather different and having some things I would usually hate (Brava rear lights for example) and was truly saddened when it succumbed to it's fate.

However, the above quote is complete tosh. You just have cried about it for an entire page and threw your toys out of the pram and brought in a personal attack at someones work because of it, so don't claim you don't care. Rubbish. Sorry, but this is what I'm talking about, if you care so much about some random person on the internet not liking your Mini, you really shouldn't be modifying Minis, or anything. Not everyone is going to like what you've done, some people are going to really dislike what you've done, and those people are within their rights to air their views. If you modified your Mini for your own enjoyment and because you liked it and not just to seek recognition from others, you really wouldn't care and would accept other peoples points of view. Go eat some steak and grow a thicker skin or something, honestly.

My absolute hate is Black &amp; Silver plates on Post 73 cars!! Actually despite the leaglities I don't mind it so much on 74-82 registrations, but on anything later than that it doesn't look retro, period or cool it just looks ridiculous!!

May I ask why on cars after 82? As after Dec 72 its illegal to have these plates, but I think they look good on any retro mini :)

Because when they get put on a car where the letter denoting the year moves to the front of the plate i.e. "A" Reg (1983ish) onwards, they just look utterly ridiculous, it then looks like an obviously eighties car with the very obviously wrong black and silver plates on it. Whereas it doesn't look so out of place on 73-82 reg cars, where the letter denoting the year is still at the end of the plate, like it is on earlier models. Don't get me wrong it's still looks wrong and it's still illegal on 73-82 cars, it just doesn't look so completely daft on those ones!!

Garrett - so the silver roof chopped was yours? I have to say not my cup of tea, but like has been said you can see the work that has gone into it. Did you find out in the end what actually caused the fire? I think it was in the mag but its a few hundred miles away right now...
