Unfortunately the Mini i bought recently has a dinged boot lid, so to save time and work i was thinking of just buying an new part, haven't decided on whether it will be original, fiber glass or carbon fiber yet but thats not the problem.
i was just wondering what the difference is between all the boot lids from Mk1 and later.
my car is a 1979 which on different places says its a different Mk of mini so its been confusing me...
as i want it quite smooth and wont be having the conventional number plate light the outside design doesn't matter, but is there any fitting differences?
cheers

As above, It's a Mk3, not a mk2.
Al lids are interchangeble- they're just different aesthetically

The least work for you will be to get a mk3 onwards lid
Mk1's use a different light and number plate mounting system
