Its odd, the blue aluminium didn't match the rest of the ally on the right

Posted Image

In fact, since the wood was rotten it seemed to just start peeling away... so i gave it a little encouragement

Frame will need replacing, so windows came out. Had to drill out a few of the screws as they were all rusted/rounded

Posted Image

That blue bit is a separate panel which shouldn't be there.

Second window out

This is the external skin now exposed, its clearly not the original and has been literally nailed in over the old one.

Posted Image

The top and bottom wooden rail that it was supposed to be secured to have decomposed, so it needs some major work to make watertight and sturdy again.

There really is nothing holding this panel up - and its damaged from where it was removed from the donor and butchered onto this one...

Rebuilding that wall today with any luck, just on a trip to B&Q - very annoyed you can't get 25mm timber off the shelf!

Had a nightmare today with angles/measurements/cutting tools so didn't get as much done as I had hoped.

Managed to build a little wall to support the roof while we reframe the bulkhead, the chipboard is being replaced as it is completely rotten but there was nothing left to measure from so having to do it by eye, which means cut, fit, take off, cut, fit, take off, cut, fit, take off etc.... Hopefully this weekend I will get it all back in line.

The section over the cab is literally hung from the main framework of the van, which is fine if you have a 4 year old climbing up there but not great for a teenager. I want to fit a better way of supporting the bed without it affecting the roof panel - should prove tricky.

Dinner is ready and photos uploading, so will post pics here shortly.

Now you can see the bottom rail, which is starting to be affected by the damp. Im not a welder so ill have to protect and bodge this rail...

Posted Image

Much better, bit of red oxide on there.

Posted Image

And the first guide piece fitted. Finally got some new wood to measure from.

Posted Image

Simple wall installed just to prop up the roof, this will probably end up coming out to take the window.

Posted Image

Sealed with CT-1 Snag list illiminator. Awesome stuff.

Posted Image

Wide angle shot...
