Engine features : Lucas 16AC alternator with -ve Earth, Mechanical petrol pump
Gearbox features : Std. Ratio Rod Change gearbox with Pot Joints. 3.44:1 final drive
Rebuild details:
Engine rebuild including

- new gasket sets, head gasket set
- new clutch oil seal
- water pump

Everything else cleaned and checked before reuse. Gearbox not stripped etc due to working ok before rebuilding the engine, no evidence of chipped teeth etc. 3.44 final drive ratio.
Painted in a nice purple colour with black gearbox/clutch housing. Paint job not the best, so can supply the paint for the buyer if they want to give it another coat, touch ups etc.
Comes with starter motor, water pump, electronic dizzy and coil, red silicone HT leads, fuel pump blanking plate (although u can remove if u want to use a mech fuel pump). Standard metal rocker cover. Pressed steel rocker assembly.
Started buying bits to rebuild this to go in my 74 clubman estate project which i recently sold. I plan to go 16v in my other project so this is no longer required. The engine was running when I got it, I only planned to rebuild it for reliability. Built it up in order to sell because not everyone has the equipment or ability to build an engine themselves.
Available to buyer at additional cost:
- Refurb HIF44 carb
- Alloy inlet manifold
- LCB exhaust manifold with new Y-piece
(£100 for these if bought with engine)
- Tim Oil pressure gauge with T-piece (new)
(£25 if bought with engine)
Summary:
So its Rebuilt A+ engine and 12g940 cylinder head, with 3.44 final drive gearbox.
Engine price:
£750 ono
Cash on collection
Other payments subject to cleared funds before collection.
(think cost of original engine, cost of the parts, time and labour to strip, clean, rebuild + specialist tools etc)

Would you sell the carb and inlet manifold separately (assuming they match)? If so, how much?
Thanks, Matt
