Hello. I have acquired some minilite-style wheels which say MISTRAL and MOD on the front, 5x12 and possibly the number 891 (?) or one similar on the back.
Can anyone tell me about these wheels and what nuts/bolts they take? The car I'm putting them on is my '91 Mini Mayfair. I have been told my existing 145/70/R12 tyres will fit but nothing else.
Thanks!

I have the same wheel's for mine :) They are made by Carmona in the late 70's/80's and are getting rare... I have a set of 5.5x12 and 5x12 :)
The only Info I have found is this:
They did them in lot's of different PCD's aswell, i.e Ford's, I've seen some on :)
These are mine and my Centre Caps..
Normal wheel nuts will fit it fine, and 145 or 155/70/12 Tyres would be the best fit, although 165/60's will fit aswell :)
Hope this helps!

Oh brilliant thank you! Interesting that they are rare. Mine are silver with black plastic caps. When you say normal wheel nuts, you don't mean I could use the ones currently on my original steelies do you? Would be handy, but the ones currently on there seem to use bolts with nuts screwed on the front which seems a little odd to me!

Yeaahh, normal steel wheel nuts are the ones, they seat nicely in the recesses I think I know what you mean, may be worth investing in the 'nut' ones, maybe even locking nuts too
Put some pics up too! Would be nice to see your wheels!

I'll definitely be getting some locking ones. And sorry for being really dumb, I honestly have no idea about which wheel nuts would be right. Is there a link to where I could buy some?
I'll put some photos off the wheels up as soon as I can :)

Hi again, just spoke to my local tyre place and booked the wheels and tyres to be swapped over next Tuesday. Only problem is they wondered whether I'd need spacers for these wheels. I'm also still unsure what wheel nuts I need! :S

These are the wheel nuts you ideally want :)
Ummm to spacers, maybe, mine clear the rear shocks and front wheel stches, but it may be advisable to get a 5mm spaced just to be sure :) on 145's you shouldn't really need to worry about rubbing or catching etc

Thanks all for the info. I have in fact decided to choose another route wheel-wise, so I am selling these.

Careful! Minis prior to 84 used wheel nuts with a round seating. Later wheel nuts were tapered. Early alloys require the rounded nuts like these http://www.minispare...pid=37307=.
It is important that the wheel nuts suit the wheels. Check carefully before fitting .
