ok guys i got the new hubs drilled out and new studs put though. the position seems perfect.

Attached File  newpcd.jpg   81.58K   31 downloadsAttached File  newpcd2.jpg   67.45K   31 downloads

i then had to enlongate the holes in the brake disks to make them fit. about 50 strokes with the file on each hole did it.
Attached File  newpcdbrakesfile.jpg   66.97K   23 downloadsAttached File  newpcdbrakes.jpg   66.71K   29 downloads

and finally we are on 4 wheels again!

Attached File  onwheels.jpg   93.67K   56 downloads

had new bearings fitted in the hubs and the play in them is awfull... probably about 10 mm and they slide in and out quite alot. is this because i had not got the drive shafts connected yet? thanks

i think the next job will be to create some spigot rings or adapters so that its not relying on the studs to center it.

I can't see the video, it's marked as private.

If you make the video public then I will take a look.

Yeah that's pretty bad, it's hard to see what's moving. Is it the flange on the disk?

Right, it should be very tight to be honest. Is it rocking in the holes or just not tight enough? The CV will make it sit better and tighter do see what happens with one on. It's far from ideal though as it's not the CVs main function.

Edit: Just watched the video again, The play is far too much to be deemed safe, even if the CV can hide it, it will increase the strain on the CV and bearings beyond what they were made for.

Is it the extended holes or the flange not sitting in the disk correctly that's causing it?

You need to get a driveshaft end in there and torque up the main hub nut, then see where you stand as you can't really go on much at the moment as nothings clamped together

Is your driveshaft in pieces? just poke the outer end through and try the hub nut

I started to tackle the position of the mini pedal box from OPD... the only problem is. there is not enough room for the standard mini accelerator pedal along side it. and i did not want to fork out another 100 or more for the pedal box that does include the extra pedal...
so i had to go about extending the main shaft that the other pedals run along to i had room for another...

just see how it would work.
first i had to extend the shaft that runs through the pedal box... so i machined up a piece and a another section that slides over it..

just looking how it will go on..

time to extend the pedal...

next thing i had to do is cut down the shaft on the steering rack as the wheel was in my face. it sticks out more now because the steering racks new position requires a new knucke joint that brings it forward 60-70mm from its original position.. heres a few pics of what i started...Attached File  steeringcollummod2.jpg   59.18K   27 downloadsAttached File  steeringcollummods3.jpg   57.16K   25 downloads

more to come later on that one, at home with quite a bad back. wish i could get on with somthing !

EDIT!
What it looks like finished. i did drill out and press fit it and weld it. so no ayrton senna antics hopefully!Attached File  steeringrack.jpg   55.87K   18 downloads

Wow, you're welcome here whenever you like with welding skills like that. The fabrication is amazing, you must have a lot of confidence! Keep it up.
