Knocked a gas bottle over in the workshop and it fell right on the freshly painted car. you might of heard the gas bottle landing after i launched it from the garage grrr!

Looking good MrThumb, well except for the dent. I end up doing something like that, but don't realise how important the thing i'm throwing is and it breaks
Has the car got adjustable ride height? Seems a tad tractor-ish at the moment, would make the arches look mint if it was a tad lower
Good luck with the MOT, nearly done

Congratulations on the MOT
As for the bogging down I'm not quite sure, it could be a massive list of things. I did a quick search though and found this:

Just a few things to check i suppose

ok guys, i have a engine warning light. and im trying to find out how to check the error code. My ecu does not have red light on it that i can see. its hard to find a guide on it too. anyone else here done it?
ok i found out on the del sol theres a service connector plug hanging from the dash.
it no longer exists so i need to find out what pins to cross on teh ECU and i assume the engine warning light will flash for me?

Hi mr thumb it's realy quite easy I will have a look at a pin out for you later It's just 1 wire coming from the ecu brown I think but I will check and all you have to do is earth it to make the circuit then your engine light will start flashing codes
I think you're right on that, its brown with silver dots on it or something like that. Although the diagram i use says there is a error check switch (ecu pin D4) and an error check light (ecu pin A13). what the hell is an error check switch?
But you're right mr thumb it'll start flashing, this might help:

ok, i tried 2 thinks
I put a led multimeter from those 2 points pins set it DC and it just stayed at 4.5 slightly fluctuating
I also put a led across the 2 pins and got nothing..
the engine warning light just stays on when i turn on the engine.
i also took it for a drive yesterday. carefull not to go over 4k and after a 6 miles i could barley accelerate at all. the engine would cut out. my mate recons it could be the fuel pump which dont sound good and its making it run lean.
so many things to try !

ok got some codes!
7 TPS - throttle position sensor
22 VTEC pressure valve
we tested the vtec engaged ok and it clicks on and off no problem.
I unplugged the throttle position sensor and plugged it back in and went for a spin.
we hit vtec for the first time. quite nice to finally feel how fast it can go.
only trouble is, after a short while the bogging down started happening again.
ordered a new fuel pump in case this one is on its way out.
im worried the TPS is duff because we had a bad earth and the the current for starting the car was going down the throttle cable and heated it up quite a bit :)
more investigation required.
