it took quite alot of faffing around. offering up and careful measurement.
once we got the metal frame about the right height we just propped it up a bit and fiber glassed everything and laid it on top and left it for 30 mins and when we come back it was great to see it working ok.

I purchased some bonet clips they are recessed one with a handle. so ill use them to secure it at the bottom and maybe some dzus clips on the side. but i still have not decided.
hopefully get them on next weekend.

Why is your job not to make these things for us? I need those hinges, I guess I will have to give it a shot at some point but it's unlikely to meet any of my expectations.

hah if i thought i could make a living out of it I would. i used £60,000 worth of break press to make the base plates for these. need one of those in the garage first :)

Id love to have my own business doing stuff like this. but you need money to make money :)
if there's a rich guy out there who wants to buy me a workshop i can make a start then!

sorry iv been a bit quiet. Life become quite busy, at one point i thought i had to move out and finish this elsewhere but things have turned out ok.
Im pleased to report that the mini is currently being painted BMW anthracite grey and it should be done by this Saturday and ill upload some pics for you then!

Holy mother! those front arches are wide. Love the colour, its a little like the colour i plan on painting mine.

 

It'll be ready just in time for the good weather :D

from what ive heard head linnings are a pain to get right :( but other than that the car looks great
