I recently found on ebay, and bought, a centre console and speaker pod set for the front of my car from Custom Consoles for Minis. I previously had no place for a head unit or speakers so I went for these:

Centre Console: http://www.ebay.co.u...9#ht_1412wt_956

Speaker Pods: http://www.ebay.co.u...9#ht_2384wt_956

I bought the largest size (6.5") speaker pods.. and here is the result of it all installed!!

Very pleased with it all :) It came all well packaged (I phoned ahead of my order to combine postage) in large boxes, the console already made up - ready for me to undo the 8 screws holding it together and attach it back together inside the car. Both speaker pods and console came with great explicit and clear instructions, with all parts included and very detailed!

Great built quality and I think fits into the car beautifully without looking out of place.

Will probably be getting a custom dashboard made up from them soon, to move the head unit up into, with the same royal blue for the outer two binnacle sections and black in the centre.

Highly recommended!!

Looks good!
One question, where does the air from the bottom of the air box go? :D

Thanks! It comes out the side of the console, it is vented and not completely closed in.

I have size 9 feet, there are no problems with legs hitting the speaker pods or feet getting squished either. They say on their ad, guaranteed not to hit your legs. Even my 6ft2 friend (I'm 5ft6" had no trouble with his knees hitting. You'd be surprised, the angle they are does not affect you :)

It's misleading to look at, but they're great :D

Another little update on this company, I just got a custom dashboard made and delivered by them.. fitted today and is great quality, fits well and looks great I think.

Really highly recommend them for speaker pods, consoles and dashboard. It came with all the fixings, extra screws to attach clocks and air vent extension tubes. Great stuff and super-fast delivery.

Been thinking of doing this too.

Im worried though that the left foot will rub angainst the console as there doesnt look like much room.

I've had my Custom consoles armrest & console for a few years now & still good as new, never had a problem with my foot rubbing the side & wouldnt be without them.
I had the one with airvents in, really like being able to direct the hot & cold air.

Yes, as said by minimal retford, it doesn't really rub along the side.. I have size 9 feet and the console doesn't really get in the way at all!!

Worth checking the screws on the centre blue section on the dashboard. I had my Custom Consoles dash in a week before the whole centre section fell out from the weight of the radio.

I picked up two of these recently and wondered if I had been given a fake or a dud with a CC gold sticker on top. Not sure where the 'quality' part of the build is. The sides are simply two bits of leather effect card mountboard sandwiched and screwed (yes SCREWED) to support struts of mdf.

Excellent size, design and looks, but the build quality is quite frankly utter rubbish, and to say I am disappointed is an understatement. I took mine apart and will be replacing the crappy card attempt with decent ply.
