I know this may have been asked before so apologies to those not at all interested ;D

I have been looking for a while at the options on offer and whilst I did consider a second hand gun of a higher quality I am always worried I'll end up spending more on it to get it working right in the long run.
I have a decent 3 hp belt driven compressor giving around 14cfm 100 litre tank, air lines are sorted filtered x2 with drop sections and drain etc. Runs all my air tools well and I don't seem to get any water in the line issues (I Hope ;D )

I need to get myself sorted with a decent gun but want to keep the price down to below £100 as I have been hitting the budget far too much on this re-build :ohno:

Any way I have narrowed the choice down to two ...unless I am heading down the wrong route :shy:
DeVilbiss FLG5 - 1.4 Gravity Compliant gun or............best price 76 so far delivered inc vat
IWATA Airgunza AZ3 HTE MKII 1.3 Compliant Gravity Spray Gun.... best price so far 81.50 delivered inc vat this one seems slightly less air hungry than the former in the spec sheets

Will be spraying celly to start with and possible 2 pack when I get the safety gear as I have another small compressor for an air feed if required. I am intending to buy another "cheaper" gun for the primer work and keep them seperate.
Would appreciate any pointers from those who either have one of these or know their onions and can point me in the right direction, also if there's anywhere worth looking for a better price etc.

All the best Glyn

check spray guns direct out for cheap spray guns they are very good,
this is just my opinion but if you are ok with spending about 100 quid on a gun and dont mind a second hand one, then buy ur self a devilbiss gti. you can pick these up on ebay for under 100. and compared to FLG5 its a completly different class gun!! i had one a few years ago (flg5) and a gti, and the gti was so much better-it put basecoat (metallic colours) on a hell of alot better and lacquering was a lot easier and better results.
still got the gti and sold the flg5 within about 2 weeks.
or go all the way and get a gti pro about 240 from morelli wicked gun but pricey! O_O

but really if you are just using it for solid colours and celly/2k the flg5 will be fine and a good gun but id rather give the extra bit and have a gti.

the iwata gun- i have the identical gun but 1.8 for primer, and its excellent but i only use for primer. but the build quality is as good as devilbiss. and is a very good gun. but i have never had the chance to spray one with a 1.3/4 setup.
these are just my opinions tho mate- if you want a new gun then go for it!! its not a lot of money to spend to have a good quality spray gun either one you choose.

Cheers Sam
Much appreciate the response
Out of interest do you think the gti would operate ok on my gear? I have been trying to match the air requirements to my gear.
I'll check out the second hand options before buying, my only worry would be how the guns have been looked after, which I'm sure you'll understand
Thanks again
Glyn

Yeh the compressor u hav there is well capable mate, it would run almost anything. I run mine from 3hp ( highest hp from 240v pos) and 160l tank so pretty similar to urs and it does it with ease, most of time I run a small sander with it as well and it's fine.
Yeh u do hav to b abit careful with them being used but they are very robust! They are built to last forever! But I suppose as long as there is sum good pics of nozzle air cap and they look good u should b ok, because not much can happen to them apart from gettin blocked.
I saw the exact gun ur looking for on eBay last nite, it has been used a few times but looks new, comes with a case and is the exact same set up,1.3mm. Start price £35 looks wicked!
Hope this helps mate but good choice of spray gun!!
Good luck
