Could I just suggest not to have any sort of powered contacts if making a switch to mount under the filler cap.
A spark from a live touching the bodywork near an open fuel tank isn't the best idea. Although I don't think they'd be coming back for more....or leaving in one piece either
Also, having an alarm that goes off who your fuel is low isn't a great idea either, it's like having a burglar alarm on your house that goes off as intruders are leaving. They take the fuel, alarm goes off so try scarper with what they've already taken out.
The best idea would be to weld bars in on the inside of the tank to stop any pipes from being pushed in.
Luckily I have size 10 feet and thunder thighs so anyone caught messing with any of my cars wouldn't be coming back or leaving in a hurry, however I don't live in London where every other person is a wannabe gangster
