http://www.moss-euro...375&SortOrder=1 this is a relay kit moss do for your headlight :)

Ok, so that's for the headlights, will I need another of the same kit for my spots?

The standard brackets won't be up to the job and the lights wil be too deep to fit onto them.
The bracket in the photo is the one I always make up. I use a 2.5" wide x 1/4" thick aluminium strip with 16 swg (1.5 mm) brackets. The lamps are steadied by opened out jubilee clips which go onto the front panel. The centre bracket is 1" wide and goes right down onto the front panel behind the sump guard for extra support.
The lights have 100 w bulbs, as do the headlights (100/80 watt). Use white bulbs not blue, as some people find the blue tinge can make it difficult to define the green banks and road edges and in snow they are not good either.
When you get more into it you'll probably find you need a sump guard and the lines running inside the car.
Glad someone else is joining the 'rally clan' on here. Good luck with it.

That's good advice, thankyou! Yeah I'm seeing it as the cheapest way for me to get my fix!

Just ring the insurance company and say you would like to upgrade your lights as this us 2012 and your lights are 80's technology. Same configuration, just modern equivalents. Don't mention rallies, you are doing it (quite rightly ) because a mini's lights are rubbish and it us a safety thing. I doubt they will even sweat about it. Then buy some of those MONSTERS Cooperman has! :-)

Yeah, I will try that, giving it to them with the cup half full! haha

Cheers All!

if you have spotlights already they should be already run on a relay , when i made my looms for my spotlights i made them so they could handle the extra power if i put 110w bulbs in i just put fuses in closer to the current draw atm , i only run 55w bulbs in each and that lights the road up now , the bottom 2 angled outwards and then the top 2 straight but further out

So for the spotlights, I'd just have to change the wires and the fuse? Ok.

as long as the relay and wires can take the amps then i carnt see why it would be a problem , best to check though first

Thing is, I have no idea how to do that! I might just replace everything as a matter of course!

A very smart Mini if I may say so. Those Group 2 wheel arches really are the very best for any Mini.

That is not very clear and does not show how the switching should be incorporated.
If you PM me your personal email I'll send a diagram back to you.

Good luck with it. You'll really enjoy it. Make sure you have suitable brake pads. With 7.5" 'S' brakes the best pads are the Carbon-Metallic ones as supplied by Mini Spares. For 8.4" discs the Mintex M1166 are excellent. I use AP600 brake fluid, but I'ver been known to get my discs red-hot.

This is what you need. Aair of Cibie Super Oscars on a quick-remove bracket.104108.jpg

I don’t suppose you have a spare light bar available? I’m looking for a good bracket for some cibie’s and your looks perfect.
