As today passed by it means there is less than 1 calendar month to complete this Van if I want to meet the Bristol show deadline.

Doors are looking good and things are heading in the right direction. Wiring loom is ready for collection and shocks, rubber bits, braking components etc are here now.

The guy I bought the Van from said that he would "have it done in 6-8 weeks"

Possibly, depends on the quality of work he wanted to do. Had I ripped the floors out and used later panels all over think could have taken a decent chunk of time off the resto, but original is the plan.

The washing line is covered in painted bits again, getting quite a pile forming now. Doors are nearly done with the rubbing down etc. I'm hoping that paint will be going on the shell in about 10 days time.

Question:

Should the wiper motor cover be silver or black? If it is black, is it matte, glosse or crinkle finish?

'68 we have is silver finish, just wondering about 1960 on a Van...

Well with no answers on that one I don't know where to go with that. Probably silver.

Anyway, got base layer of paint on the doors, subframes are painted and now my gym is out of action as all the bits are there in storage.

Here is Trevor Ripley's van - http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649.  It might help, if not, I'm sure Trevor would know.

Black on that one then... I wonder, is the even earlier van that he bought the Marigold 1960?

Don't know.  I'll ask Jason when he's back from the IMM as he was the one who told me Trevor was selling his van.  However, I do know that Trevor would not have paid the silly money that they wanted for that van if he did get it.

If you need any advice on anything related to what right/wrong for your van, Trevor's the man.  He's been really helpful with Speedy.

Don't think I will have it done for Bristol, things aren't progressing well. Anyway, here is some base coat on the shell, at least it looks like something is happening, even if it is to be rubbed off again.

sorry to hear that mate..was planing on coming down for a proper look...

Still better to take a bit of extra time to get it done right than having to re do it..seeing what you've done so far we all know it's gonna be spot on.. keep up the good work you might just make it

Yet more paint on the shell, finding more and more imperfections to be sorted.
