Good morning TMF,

Another new product from Optimise Automtoive:

Classic Mini Centre Console Original

Trimmed in vinyl leatherette (faces) & carpet (sides), with a variety of face options.

Console specifications

Designed to fit all standard right hand drive Classic Mini’s (1959 to 2000) that are fitted with the standard metal or plastic heaters.

Trimmed in vinyl leatherette (faces) and carpet (sides).

Our unique features include:

MDF & hardboard construction

We are the only manufacturer to offer hardboard sides (we do NOT use leather effect cardboard) - this feature makes our consoles stronger and considerably more durable.

Carpeted sides

We are the only manufacturer to offer carpeted side panels - this feature gives our consoles a refined appearance.

And, a limited range of our centre consoles, with popular trim options are now available from our eBay shop.

Plastic heater consoles: LINK

And, if you cannot find the options that you are looking for within our eBay shop please contact us (they will be added to the website some time in the next 4 weeks ish).

Now, onto releasing our ‘enhanced’ centre consoles...

Thanks

How would I know what Heater I have?

The consoles look cool, do you still honor the TMF+ discount with them as they are listed on eBay?

Thanks!

I'm guessing you mean clutch? There is no clearance - which is why we are also about to launch our enhanced model, which has a clutch cut-away... it will be released next week.

Very simple to find out, the metal heaters are made from metal and the plastic heaters are made from plastic ;D

And no, TMF+ discount is not available on eBay.

Thanks... Well my heater is metal and my switch panel thing (for the heater) is plastic... So i wasnt sure what i would be (metal as a guess).

They look good + would love one (love all your products - my boot lining kit transformed the space) if i didnt have a list of things to fix allready!.

Just a thought though. If your going to be selling an improved model next week - wont people just not buy this model and wait (i know i would)?

Erm... it's not an improved as such, it's an alternative ;D

Consoles like these have been a popular item for over 10 years now, so there is nothing wrong with them - but, people do often complain about the clutch and your clutch foot rubbing on the side panel.

So, we are simply offering a solution to fix the clutch rubbing problem as an alternative.

Speaking from personal experience the centre console I purchased for my own Mini way back in 2003 (long before Optimise Automotive was ever a thought) lasted about a month before I sold it on eBay, as it drove me absolutely mad. I know I'm not alone in doing... yet, many others have no problems with the full side and will continue to buy full side consoles for years to come.

Personal preference I guess.

Anyway, Friday night, I'm off the pub.

Thanks

A quick update...

"How would I know what Heater I have?" has turned out to be an FAQ so I have updated the auctions to "by year" instead.

So, now instead of "Classic Mini Centre Console Original - Metal Heater (as Photographed)" or "Classic Mini Centre Console Original - Plastic Heater (as Photographed)" they are listed as:

Classic Mini Centre Console Original (1993 to 2000) - As Photographed

or

Classic Mini Centre Console Original (1969 to 1994) - As Photographed

I have also updated the descriptions with more information, fingers crossed it helps with the confusion.

Thanks

P.S. I should have the time to release the 'enhanced' tomorrow :D
