You're going to struggle because commercial vehicle insurance tends to be 26 and over as standard, for hire vehicles. The only way I know around this is if you can find a rental company willing to hire you a van without their insurance and then you arrange your own separate short term cover. A guy I know is nineteen and has a company van for his work, when his van goes in for repair his company hire him a replacement van and then have to arrange their own separate insurance cover on it.

Try Europecar, the young driver supplement covers anyone down to 21 but that might be for cars only. If not try a man and van service, they might well be cheaper than a van anyway as they don't charge you for the whole day.

Europecar definitely will let vans out to 21 year olds, they are not too expensive either.

Edit: even the big LWB vans

europecar ent too bad, 52 for a days hire (would be lower but extra costs for anyone under 25)

Hertz do a student hire, I rented a car last year when I was 19. I think they do vans too. There's a roughly £20 a day young driver surcharge though.

Europecar do vans by the hour now, if there is a Europecar drop off at both ends of your trip it could be better to go that way. It'll be cheaper up to the 4th hour I think.

Why don;t you just hire a man and a van, most work by the hour and i reckon it will be cheaper than hiring for the day.
