Well, I planned on painting him today, bought the paint, baby Shifty was packed off to the grandparents, what could go wrong...?

Hmmm, well my compressor could decide to choose today to destroy its motor!!.................DOH!!

Anyway, the body is now filled and prepped ready for paint.

I bought a new passengers door and then prepped and fitted that as well.

Once the compressor is fixed, its a quick squirt of bar coat, some primer and then several coats of Bronze Yellow!!

If it makes you feel better, we discussed it and then I dismissed your ideas as the ruminations of a mad man!

Yes, had the same problem, just replaced the head gasket, 2 valves, pressure switch, air filter unit and oil in mine after that blew its self up.. Oil was black! Works a treat now!

Well, this could be the weekend he's painted!!

I have been working just not taken any pics!

I decided that I wasn't happy with the lower parts of the front wing, just couldn't get it to look right. I found out that you can get a 1/4 repair panel that goes up to the swage line. Bought a pair of them and they are now fitted!!

Plans for tomorrow..

Finish the filling and prep

Clean out the garage

Jet wash and clean him

Chuck some bar coat and then high build primer.

Then on Sunday it should be a quick flat back of the high build and another clean and then 4 coats of paint!!

(plans subject to change!!)

Cheers!! I like the bronze yellow, its a cool '70s colour. I prefer Black tulip or Acronite though. I did have a 73 Midget in Damask though/
