i smashed up a few cars over the years & wrote off 3 all together ;D
none have been a mini though , they seem less prone to accidents in my opinion as they are quite nimble to drive & most accidents can be avoided if you are alert !
i doubt that a mini would do well in a crash , but then again they are quite strong for what they are !

Not an NCAP test, but is this the sort of thing you're after?

Mini Crash Test

It's a MOV file. Don't watch it if you don't want to see how the Mini copes with an offset collision with a concrete block.

Does anyone have a link to a video of this crash test? Or possibly the safety report / star rating?

Cheers. Guy.

I don't know how fast it is. But luckily you don't tend to get concrete blocks in the middle of the road, and most new cars are much softer to bump into ;D

i am not sure what speed it is but although the engine bay was destroyed the cabin looked fairly intact.

Softer round the edges, however a modern car is far stiffer, its the way they increase safety for the occupants; so in larger larger crashes, the mini isn't just bounced off the soft bumpers but is hit by the passenger cell... :'( Theres also an obvious weight disadvantage :w00t:

Though this is an advantage when hitting a soild object as it means the mini absorbs less impact to remove speed
