Aesome! Very elegant, super neat and well, just totally profesional.
Well done and - in my books - top marks.
Thanks for starting this thread and for sharing.
I've done a couple of non-standard switch panels and while they have been a pile of work and look quite OK from the front, behind the scences, mine have been nothing short of a dogs breakfast no matter what I was ever able to do, all them wires, yeah, they have a purpose, but there's no way I've been able to do to tidy them up. This is just super.
I know you are enjoying making your own PC boards and again, top marks on that front too, however, if you get a bit fed up doing them or find yourself (which I can see!) doing them in numbers then there are a few places about (that you probably already know of) who can do the PC boards for you working from your files, you'll probably find they work out a similar cost to doing your own, many of these guys also supply them drilled. I know Mapplin used to do them, but no doubt there'd be quite a few others too.
Here's one I did a couple of years back (the vinyal was the owner's handy work)
It's back lit too (sorry that it's blury, I blame the camera!)
But as I said ^ behind the scenes, it make one want to put a paper bag over their head,,,,,,

I was going to do something along this route using a ford ka heater valve, and much cheaper for the same item
http://www.ebay.co.u...=item35dde7614f
Are they electric?
Please say no or I'll go in to orbit.
That one ^ I made electric servo valving for, so the heater controls are actually pots, nice and lite to operate, but you know how long it too me to make them??? Yes, an obseen amount of time.
That bloody Fiesta one better be vacuum or something else,,,,,,,,

It was the Fiesta/Ka valve that I used with my prototype, but I'm not overly impressed with the valves, the coil runs extremely hot although that might be helped by the flow of the water. Having also dismantled the valve I'm not overly keen on the way it operates or is built so I'm looking for an alternative. The coil draws around 700mA when the valve closes.

Hang on a tick, I'm just putting the space suit on,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
OK, got it, electric but not 'brilliant' - I feel a tad better about the time I spent making them,,,,,,,,,,

I'm using Eagle for my board prototyping. I tried various PCB software tool but found this one suits my needs. Prototyping takes time and the turn around time on the boards time isn't the fastest unless you want to pay through the nose for them. I'm trying to keep the costs down so it's taking longer than I hoped. I just need to stop making changes to my designs!!

It's been a long time in coming but here is my first prototype. I designed it for my colour changing switches but can easily be configured to accept 6 standard switch inputs and up to 11 relay outputs. I'll be testing it with 8 x 10A relays and 3 x 30A standard automotive relays. I'll probably need to make a few changes to the board for the final version to accommodate plugs for the wiring to the switches as I'll be hard wiring the initial test boards.
Just need to sort out an enclosure. The coins are just to give an idea of the size of the board.

Top work, beautifully done. I would definitely be in the market for a complete set, as close to plug and play as possible.
Very impressive!

Where will the board and enclosure mount?

Just to put a spanner in the works wiredbywilson had done a set of similar lights that are plug and play. He has a thread already with pics in the traders area and also on facebook.
No I'm not related to him, ive just ordered a set from him after seeing them at Bingley.

Could you link a wireless steering wheel option in to the Arduino like this:

That is impressive, That's the beauty of Arduino, is that it's only limited by your imagination I have a look into when when I have some time. I wouldn't mind a chat with him. Excellent work

Ok gentlemen, you both have your own approach to the way you construct your products and of course there will always be an element of "why do you do it this way" etc etc etc and "mine is constructed this way" again etc etc etc.
You both offer a similar product and diversity is a good thing which helps to keep things interesting, both products have their own unique characteristics.
Now the fact we have allowed you both trader status means we feel you can offer something to our members on here otherwise this would not happen. Now to maintain this i would like both of you to cease any more comments about each others products and the way they are constructed and work.
You both have different approaches as to what you feel us your customers may need and as i said this keeps thing diverse and gives us some choice which is a good thing.
Although this has not got into a bitter slagging match i am stepping in now to warn both of you this will not be tolerated and will not be allowed to happen.
Please keep offering your products but no more comments.
Thankyou.
