It says on my v5 it was built on the 1st of jan thats all i know i dont know what number it is.

the date on the V5 is the date that the car was registered......not the day that it was built.......i very much doubt that the car was registered on the day that it was built as it would have had to be built, quality checked at the factory, transfered to the supplying dealership, pdi checked, valeted and then collected by the customer, there would't have been enough hours in the day for all of that to happen.
even if the customer had ordered that specific car they would not have taken delivery of it on the same day that it was built on.

are you sure that it says 1st jan 1985 on your log book?.................the "C" registration prefix wasn't issued until 1st august 1985, my old mini ritz was registered on 5th august 1985.

if your car was manufactured in january 1985 then it couldn't have been registered until at least 1st august 1985 to make it a "C" reg which would mean that it would have been sat around for 7 months before being registered.

the log book says that it was produced on the 1st of jan?........log books don't carry that information, the dvla only register the cars, they dont know or provide information of when they were built, only heritage carry that information from old BL records up until the mid 70's.

i think that you are quoting the information from wikipedia (which is wrong anyway)

it says on the log book (as it does on everybody's) what the year of manufacture was, it says that our mini special was manufactured in 1979 so does that mean that our mini was one of the first specials to be built then?......................makes the same difference.................... ;D

if the paint shop spray it properly then they will have to blend the paint into the door as well.
