Sold my 200SX daily(ish) drive last week and gone back to another T4 to convert into a camper again, really enjoyed my old one and always said i'd build another from a nicer base van when i could afford to and that time is now :)

my old one was done on a budget of £1500 including buying the van and i'm quite chuffed with how it turned out.
http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/topic/154989-vw-camper-conversion/

I'm going to keep pretty simple on this one really, i just want it to be practical and easy to use really. It's main job will be for sticking my moutain bike in and buggering off round the country throwing myself down hills and stuff, but also for towing my mini to the drag strip :D

Gone for a 102 2.5tdi engine this time round and picked one up thats already had a bit of a kick start on the conversion front.

Hoping to start making some good progress on this at the end of feb when all my overtime comes in ;)

Already has a full width bed/seat and 2 extra seatbelts fitted, i'll be swapping this for a 3/4 width though so i can fit units down the drivers side of the van and a fridge/stove etc, gotta have somewhere to make a brew!
sub and amp will be coming out and those 6x9's! Thankfully its already been insulated behind the panels and under the floor so thats one less job for me to do.

are you going to change the V5 to camper/motorhome

if you are it's worth checking the DVLA site as there are certain things you need

there seems to be a lot of mini/T4 owners around! :D

No idea if i'll get round to changing the V5 to a camper, only real benefit i can see is being able to get it back into london without having to pay £100 for the privelidge, but it did mean i got this one from Fulham for the bargain price of £1900 :D

Been out for a drive today to give it a bit of a trial run and had an awesome day!

Have had some of my favourite pics there over the years..

Love the first picture, off topic but what lens was that with? depth of field looks good even at that focal length...

I really want to get a t4 and go wild camping there, I'm jealous, looks amazing.

it was with my 35mm f1.8 shot at 1/3200 f1.8 and iso200 on my old D60, all the ones from today were with the same lens but on my D90. Only got 3 lenses atm, too many expensive hobbies and not enough pennies to fund them all, lol!

Ahh nice, I have the 50mm 1.8, I could tell it wasn't kit lens :P Yep I wish I had enough money for photography too... lens doesn't a/f on my body and I want the 1.4 version too haha

And something actually related to the thread... are you on the t4 forum? http://www.vwt4forum.co.uk

Since you posted this yesterday I signed up and have been flat out reading all the build threads haha

aaah, thats main reason i upgraded to a D90 with there only being a handful of lenses that would AF properly on the D60, much more lens choice with this body thankfully. Next lens i want is the nikon 70-200 f2.8 as an upgrade for my cheapy sigma 70-300, but that's going to take some saving!

Yeah i've been on the T4 forum for a few years now, same username :)
My mate in the pics above runs a motorhome spares company and she's the sole UK distributor for Fasp seat swivels, gotta love mates rates! ;)

Yeh I got the D3100 for £250 mates rates, back when it was £550 ;) but it sucks that it doesn't have a built in af motor :( I used the 70-200 2.8 at college a while back, it's a really nice, well built lens, really fast too

Ooh I see, and lucky :P

Don't suppose you know of any mates rates for t4s, and also mates rates for insurance on a 2.5 tdi for an 18 year old?

no? damn...
