I've gone for the standard rack.

I'm chewing over converting from RHD to LHD (I took one of my Mini's with me when I moved from Scotland to the USA couple of years ago). My plan was to use my current RHD pedal box and move it over. But to me it looks like the pedals may be offset towards the center of the car (i.e. not as nice a driving position as the RHD).
Are LHD pedal boxes still available, or...
Should/could I modify my RHD clutch/brake pedals to bring them to centre position of the USA driver footwell (modify = using my trusty grinder and MIG :D )???

Cheers,
Colin.

Pedal boxes are available as are the clutch and accelerator pedals along with all the plastic bushes, pivot, and stop light switch bracket etc. What is not easily available is the LHD brake pedal NAM 8514 (88-on)

Mini Sport have one on their computer but can't find it and if they do, it has my name on it :) . I suppose it could be fabricated without too much difficulty.

So what parts will I actually need to buy to convert it back to RHD?

If its an 88-on see post #13. If its a pre-88, I don't know.

I don't have a servo and will move pedal and clutch/brake masters to LH side... So I guess that means I don't need that NAM8514 brake pedal/bar.

LHD and RHD pedals are different, they're offset from the pedal box by a different amount. If you use the wrong ones, the pedals end up in the wrong place. My own car was badly converted from LHD by a previous owner and when I got it I didn't know. It took a few years before I realised why the clutch was so finicky, my clutch foot was off under the heater.

Hence why I think I'll need to take a grinder an MIG to my pedals.

Sorry, didn't notice you'd said that above. If you can find some it'll be far easier to swap them! I might still have the LHD clutch one kicking about somewhere. RHD pedals on the left would be pretty close to the throttle if you didn't alter them.

Correct . That's why it said 88-on..... :) I haven't a clue what's required on pre-88 but there may be people reading this who want to convert 'servo' minis. Without NAM 8514 it won't be easy.

It's only the throttle pedal and you can heat it up and re-shape it to suit.
I'm shortly to start the restoration of a 1966 rally 'S' and I may decide to make it LHD as I prefer LHD cars.

No it's not, not on post '76 cars at least but I can't say I've compared the pedals of earlier cars. The Mk4 onwards brake and clutch pedals have around 1 1/2" difference in offset between the LHD and RHD versions.
