Hi all,
Still on the shock decision just wondering what Protech are like as an adjustable shock absorber? Does anyone recommend them or run them on your car?

Cheers, Dave

Hi dave I run protech shocks on my mini. I highly recommend them, i believe these are the best mod I have done. I was previously running spax gas shocks but they are not a scratch on the protech's as the handling is now fantastic.

Cheers mate, are they easily adjustable? What settings do you use or is it personal preferance?

Those are the alloy ones. And yeah they're easily adjustable. Just a little knob you turn at the bottom, you can do it with the car on the ground easily.
Take the lowest setting as the standard dampers and work from there, i think i ran about 6 clicks up front and 8 rear. But it's all personal preference.

I have no idea what they are like on a mini, but in kitcar circles they are quite respected. I have a set on mine, they seem fine. On kitcars they still fall into the affordable category, if not budget, but I know one guy who switched to £700 of Protec from £1,300 of Nitrons (albeit all were double adjustible ) and he is happy. Especially with the aftercare from Protec, After 6 months of racing on his expensive Nitrons ( maybe only 500 miles ) they started to leak and Nitrons said " yeah they do that, you have been racing so warranty invalid, that will be £xxx for a rebuild thank you very much" . Nice.

They are absolutely superb. I have run standard and lowered ones and they are serious quality kit. Another big factor for me is that the customer service is brilliant. The guy who runs it (Kevin) really knows his stuff and is more than happy to offer advice and help - i went with them the first time after trying to get info from Gaz, Spax and Bilstein and just came across big companies that didn't want to know. Plus they are fully rebuildable as mentioned above so when they eventually need a bit of TLC you are looking at the cost of a service not buying new shocks.
