It's easy to remove the screen, just pull out the chrome locking strip, then push the screen from the inside.

Yup!!..... I did exactly that and CRACK!! >_<

...... Putting the new screen in was pretty straight forward though, the most tricky bit about it was having to dial that long number for Autoglass and also making the cup of tea for the glass fitter when he arrived...

Who said anything about that?!!

Why else would you not cut the rubber? It takes 2 minutes, removes any chance of breaking the glass and if your replacing the rubber anyway what does it matter

It takes even less time to just push it out!! I would only ever cut the rubber if it has been glued otherwise absolutely no need!

If you make sure you spread the pressure being applied inside when pushing it out you will not crack it. but do not apply it all in one place especially in the middle do it from the corner area. :)

My windscreen didn't break and I had to get inside and really kick the windscreen, and still nothing! The old rubber had go so old and perished at had become like plastic and was breaking, so I just cut it out. I decided that whatever it cost the old one wasn't going back in as most of it had started to split where I'd be pushing at it. I did discover my windscreen was pretty damn solid and will take some whacking!

Still one of the easiest jobs I've done though, even if it was a little frustrating. At least theres nothing fiddly.
