the engine is on the large side, but i know this ones a good runner, i thought about scale speed, but then that went out the window when the little speed demon inside me said go mad! haha! i plan to make the roof panel removeable, held on sunken allen key bolts, so ill have enough room to work on/remove the engine and swap it if need be.

what engine would you suggest then? ive looked high and low for a suitable engine, i'm not planning on spending big, this is just a little side project while the weather is to cold to paint my mini lol

try a motor from a model air plane, fairly small

those wheels need to be a bit bigger i think, look way to small

i think your idea of a strimmer engine would be best.

the strimmer engine is a tricky one, ive been looking for one with a low cable drive to run down the exhaust tunnel to the diff, but most strimmers drive comes centrally from the engine, if i can find one for cheap, and small enough to fit in the engine bay, then ill go for that, if not ill stick to my mini moto engine lol

the wheels are the correct size, its the tyres that make them look wrong, i need thicker tyres with at least 1" of sidewall for them to look right

cheers! appreciate all the positive feedback this is getting! i designed the diff earlier at work, drew it up to see if it worked on paper than just in my head, and i reckon its gonna work ;) but dikhead me left the plans at work! typical, i wont give too much away but all ill say is "mini push rods" for u to get ur brains around to how they can be used in this build :D

that would be spot on! but again, budget comes into mind lol

did a little work on the mini moto engine today, cut off the pull start from the plastic housing as it'll be drill started through a hole in the 1/4 panel ;)

also my sprocket turned up for the diff, but its the wrong amount of teeth, so ill either get another identical, and some chain to suit, or find a sprocket with the correct teeth.. heres my quick drawing of how the diff will work, makes sense to me lol..

it will be a solid diff, bit like one thats been welded up, so means it can drift ;)
