thats why i thought about a strimmer engine, that way its all ready to drop in and already has the prop so i can run rwd, i'll just have to make a connector that mounts to a diff at the rear that will connect the shaft from the strimmer thus giving me forward motion ;)
Pretty sure the baja engines are loosly strimmer based. Steering servos are larger and more suitable to a model of the size of your fine creation too. Cannot wait to see it coming on.

yeah ive had a few people telling me this, might keep an eye out for something suitable, although i have a mate who recons strimmers/chainsaws/lawnmowers so might see what he has that will fit the bill, im not after break neck performance (the poor action man thats gonna be driving it will need to keep his head! lol) i just want something that will give a scaled down speed that will be more acurate to actual speed of a full size mini

gonna knock up a jig soon to mount the floor to at ride height and build from there upwards, that way i can keep everythin static and easier to work on/build up.
if anyone has any large scale rc car suspension/coilovers that they dont need, i'd be interested!

Also i have just mesured a quid, and it even looks like your not far off 1/4 scale pcd on the wheel screws too.
Not that i am expecting to see thou accuracy just yet.
The shocks are 17mm diameter, and i may have 2 different lengths

yeah the wheels are pretty spot on to be honest, took me 3 days to source them, but very happy with how they look, should work well! even have the hex drive included, think i might use actual mini pushrods and turn them down to make my own custom driveshafts
