Made a start on the new chassis today, its gonna be a monster considering that engine is a mini moto one! And I still need to finish the rear end of the frame!

And the quality of the welding ;)

I've managed to win a couple of the ashtray tyres, so will see if my calculations are correct! Lol

I've gone for some different wheels now, the ashtray tyres are impossible to find rims for, unless they are full custom ones, so I've done some hunting around and found these...

They are 6" pneumatic castor wheels, with the same style of tyre as the ashtray tyres, but are a little wider (hopefully improving grip!) I'll just need to modify the centres a little to lose the castor bearing housing as it's pretty wide and unneeded.

This is going to be epic!

I have one of those ashtray wheels, but it is old and cracked so I don't think it will take allot of abuse.

That's another reason i decided against them, being so old, failure is very likely! Hence the pneumatic wheels

lol you must have to neat and tidy pigeons by you then lol

im going to do some more on it tonight, my wheels should of turned up today, so i can check how they sit in the arches, then i can start fabricating the rear end C pillars and the rear doors which will be opening to aid maintenance! then ill work my way forward so i know everything is kept in scale, as my pick up i did was pretty much free hand, so wasnt to scale in places, which is why i ended up not finishing it, it just didnt look right to me, but this one should be to scale, and hopefully quite accurate!

ill get some pics up later ;)

Wheels turned up! Proper little tyres with inner tubes! Lol there perfect 1:3 scale, full size 10" wheel with tyre is 18", divided by 3 is 6"

The 1 thing I should of done is wait until I had the wheels before doing the rear arch tubs, there a bit oversize lol but i spose that just means I can fit bigger wheels in future and run it with the wheels tucked in the arches, slammed style!

Haha awesome. I dunno that arch gap seams pretty realistic ha. You could always band the wheels out :P
