well the bonnet took me about half an hour to make, other panels like the bootlid will take a little longer due to the curves/details but if i can make a panel every other day, i cant see the shell taking me that long really, its just like making a jigsaw that ill eventually weld together to form a solid structure, the doors boot and bonnet should all open, the shell will be the easy part, its everything else that has the potential to be a nightmare such as subframes, suspension etc but if i can get a shell knocked together, im sure i can find someway of doing all that (even if it means using large scale rc car suspension components like the coilovers etc, as i dont fancy trying to make the rubber donuts etc haha!) the seats should be easy to make! gonna get cracking in a little while on a bootlid, might try make a mk1 ;)

well here it is... done it quicker than i expected lol still needs a little bit here and there and a tiny skim of filler to get it smooth but step by step of how i did it..

started of by measuring the boot lid and diving it by 4 and transfering the dimmensions to sheet steel...

Posted Image

then cut it out...

Posted Image

then marked up the area for the number plate..

Posted Image

then using a hammer and chisel i started knocking in the detail around the numberplate area..

Posted Image

Posted Image

then i put some curve into it, and started bending the edges up to form the right shape

Posted Image

gave it a quick sand to show the detail a little better, still needs final prep but happy with the shape!

Posted Image

what do you think? :P

thanks for the comments! :D i just like making things lol although alot of people do say i have alot of patience, anyone could make these though, flat panels are easy, what will really test me is the door frame/a-pillar/b-pillar/the more complex shapes. enjoying it though!
