The A series was used from 1951/52 so this 'prototype' could well pre-date the mini anyway.

I agree with what Anth61's point. Someone with too much money would enjoy such a unique project. I imagine it would add an amazing amount of value to a car if it were ever completed and fitted.
Would also be good to see the original Mini prototype 'orange box' re-created complete with its engine around the other way, sadly the prototypes were usually scrapped but you never know one day maybe.....

Issigonis would have designed the car alot narrower if this 2 pot was used !!!!!! after all he never liked to waste space!

However Issigonis was working on calculations for a 475cc engine (half 948cc A-series) in January 1957 when the Mini was under development if you read the article here:
