If the original owner was that bothered they would not have sold it in the first place. Maybe they are thinking it would fetch more on ebay now it's been on Top Gear.

OK so have just read this :
" Wilf was my car a few years ago and ended up in India on the Top Gear Xmas Special....... I did not sell him to Top Gear, he was immaculate when I had him and I only let him go as my elderly neighbour strulled to get in/out of him, and my son was in a football team and I worried that taking some of the team to matches would trash Wilf's interior!! We want him back, restored and auctioned for charity... "

So fly a car park from India, restore and auction. How much will all that cost ? Just give your money to charity.

Has anyone been able to verify it's actually on that plinth still? I'd be surprised if they actually left it there and passed off the opportunity to drag it around for publicity like they did their other 'adventure' cars.

As Jake Cooper said bring it back, restore it and auction for charity maybe contact top gear see if they will pay for restoration and advertise on there show. Maybe start a thread on here for which charity the money should go to.

I think it would be brilliant if they could get it back, I would do anything for a cooper sport like that! had the interior I want as well!

Bit extreme, Was a great episode and shared Mini love to everyone.

To be honest I don't care about it being destroyed it was a good episode and we've always wanted a Mini on Top Gear.

well the reaction from some people, saying they will never watch top gear again because they killed a mini, will most likley make Jeremy smash another up for yet more reactions. thats my theory lol
