hi guys, lots to think about over the summer break in New Zealand, mini 7 racing starts again in 3 weeks time and getting back into the feel now :)

so a few things to think about,

first one being ride height, and squew front - back

so what do you run? could advise or have heard and who from?

the front runners out here are running around 6 inches from the sill lip to the floor at the front (just below the A panel before it starts curving up over the wheel) and 7 inches at the back (in the same place as such)

what do you guys think?

to give a guide of what you're working with, we're running hoosier slicks, competition cones all round, 650kg with driver, 80bhp 998's ect

Well you definately need it higher at the rear, and 1" sound's about right. It's certinally a good place to start.

depending on how you drive will then depend on what else you do to get the balance you like. I have front and rear ARBs to enable me to set the car up, but you can do similar with rear toe and tyre pressures.

if it helps - when living in AUS my historic mini when racing at Lakeside Qld was

using hoosiers about 26 f 24b
1/16 toe out
1 1/2 camber

1/2 deg rear
1/16 toe in rear
spax 9f 4b
RearAnti roll Bar

front about 1" lower than back

heres photo of car when changed to club cars
same set up, the car won the championship so couldnt have been to bad

forgot to say we're using a chrome moly, seriously stiff rear anti roll bar too, and have the possibility of fitting a front one, but going to play with the front one at a later date.

Thanks for the reply's though guys, those settings are the same ish as what we've been running, but everyone out here seems to like 2 degrees camber all round.

when it comes to shock absorbers, i was reading the bill sollis race mini book, and he speaks so highly over twin external adjusting dampers, but i can't seem to find any! any idea's?
