hi all doing a bit more to my mini i am going to be changing the bonnet to a mk1 style. and also a boot lid to mk1 style. today i have cut out the lower section on the boot lid as it was rusty inch up across the bottom and sealed it with black hammerite over the bare metal. i have also got a old mk3 bonnet and cut the lip of and done some welding repairs and got it ready for filler work. i will get them ready for paint and test fit just incase there is big gaps anywhere and i can re shape before painted. and a couple of pics of my mini now 8 months from when i built it.

thanks mate it does sit nice but i am going to be changing the wheels at some point when i can find a set of rose petals. thanks tom

done a little bit today welded boot lid bottom lip up and started to do some filler work on the bonnet. thanks for looking.

Good work tom, Looks like you've done a good job repairing the bonnet and boot. what mk1 grille are you going to have?

thanks alex i am going to reuse the grill i already have fitted just going to buy a mustache and fit that on. cheers tom

thanks and i was in Switzerland about 4 months back as i drove my mini to France down to the south of France over to Italy and then to Switzerland and all the way back home again. hopefully going to do a simulare trip again in June July this year..  thanks tom

will not a mustache fit straight around my grill? its a mk1 grill that i have i have just fitted the mk3 mk4 type of chrome edging to match the bonnet chrome lip..

You sure thats a mk1 grille? does it have a different type chrome peice running along the bottom if so I don't think that a mk1 grille. You can always test fit it and see what it's like.

Any more thoughts on engine & gearbox ????    I'm not too far behind you progress wise, would of liked to have done more over Christmas but never planned on having so many Tiny snags ! Enjoyed reading about your build, Keep up the good work !!
