i get what you mean mate basically if i get two pieces of metal shape them into a triangle or something and then it will look like its holding the light on. wouldnt it look bodgey tho? ile send you the light and design it for me? lol

Ha ha yeah thats the ticket .Although doing it as a one piece design would be best to keep it all straight & symmetrical.
Ally chromed or annodised would be a good look making sure theres no sharp edges though.

that looks quite good thanks alot for this. now the hard bit how do i make them and get the chromed? can you do that?

Hmm i can get a guy about 5 miles from me to do it as it his job/company.
but there should be somewere round your local area that does it to.
I would say some thin sheet metal (possible aliminium if you want annodised) at about 2-3mm so you can file down the edges to smooth into the body as much as possible then get some gasket paper for body to plate gap & screw up,jobs a gooden

Not a bad idea in stead of ally plate,although titanium sound better

Well first i need a boot to model it on as ive not got my hands on one yet .Although a dolly or somthing would do
Then i'll need to buy a mk1 boot light for dimensions (going up to minisport soon).
And i can "acquire" a piece of ally no problem.

Ha ha need the parts anyway's mate just werent on the priority list of parts to buy.

Just had a ganders round your area for a chroming place & found these guy's :
http://castlechrome.co.uk/gallery.html Give them a bell & ask for a rough quote on doing a piece of 2-3mm ally at about 1.5 inch by 6 inch roughly Also they will ask how many microns you want id say about 3or4.
