can anyone tell me if i can use a fog light to mount onto the rear boot lid to act as a reverse light? i am having mk2 lights i no you can buy little reverse lights to mount underneath bumper but i wanted to got for something not often seen much help would appreciate thanks tom

the picture you sent me is what i am after do you no if i can have my reverse light like that on my mini as originally it had them in the rear lights. just want to make sure it would pass mot like that. cheers

Yes you don't need a reverse light for an MOT.

Although if you have the light and it is not working that would be a failure.

I took mine off that was fiitted under the bumper and they failed my mot because they said it originally had one. The only reason I took it off was because I couldnt get it to work but i think it looks better without to be honest. I managed to get it to work once they told me i needed it for the mot lol.

The only reason I took it off was because I couldnt get it to work but i think it looks better without to be honest. I managed to get it to work once they told me i needed it for the mot lol.

lol yeh originally my mini come with the reverse light built into the rear lights. but as i am changing my rear lights to mk2 ones they dont have the reverse light built in. so i can ever buy a little reverse light to mount under the rear bumper or if i can have a round fog light mounted onto the boot and use that as a reverse light? just like the picture above. i just asking if anyone noes iff i am aloud to do that before i go drilling holes into the boot lid. basically ile have one little fog light underneath the rear bumper and then the reverse fog light on the bootlid. thanks for all comments guys cheers
