give that 2 months you will have it ready for paint all those panels you got ready to be fitted whats the roof panel like?

look`s spot on mate to be honest i`ve stripped the lining out and couldn`t see any rust at all and it don`t look like any dent`s or anything so hopefully all good ;D it`s quite lucky that the colour it is, is exactly what i want to paint it when it`s ready :D even tho it say`s gold on the log book lol

lol jammy mine was all dented from kids jumping over it and yeh is a nice color will look nice when done get the stripping tomorrow ehh?

yeah we`ll be trying to see if there`s any life in the old girl`s engine and then taking the engine out an dropping the subframes an hopefully get a better picture of what i`m working with!! i`ve seen on another thread about just undoing the pipework and cables and dropping the engine on the subframe an lift the shell off it, what do ya reckon would that be easier?? bear in mind we`ve got a 6 ton engine crane lol

thats what i did disconnect everything wires/heater pipes anything thats going into car also get gear linkage out the way and then drop subframe out with two big bolt at the top and two bolts at the front going threw the front panel and then lift mini up in the air simples!

you got haynes manual? should say in there what to take off have a good gander threw it tonight get prepared lol also should say about getting the roll pin out gear linkage they are a pain i think you have to put it into first or reverse to get acces to it better then you will need something the same size and tap it out i think i used a long torques screwdriver lol

no i aint got one mate that`s on my to do list, along with stock up on etch primer and seam sealer ;D have ya got any tips on what tool`s would come in handy because the garage i`m sharing is like a bomb site and finding summot in there would prob take as long as the full resto lol

all the tools you can get your hands on lol spanners socket sets screw drivers grinding blades welding gear and ect ect maybe will be needing trolley jack and stands to put your shell on to get an old matress to roll your mini on its side when its bare shell get setup ready ;D lol

well the welding gears covered and grinding/cutting discs i`ve got a few spanners and sockets but not anything tough lasting (monkey metal) i`ve been thinking about the mattress thing aswell, wouldn`t it catch fire if i welded the shell while it`s on that?? O_O just a thought could be wrong i aint done it before

mine never but you could always soak the mattress just to be sure i done it like this roll it on drivers side and welded this side and then fliped it to passenger side and welded that side wasnt to close to the mattress then with the welder you will need a 1.5/16" socket for the top subframe mounts bolts half inch socket if you have got that socket set?

i`m not sure what size`s i`ve got to be honest but i`ll drag em out an if i aint got the right ones i`ll go shoppin ;D lol the bliss of getting a cheap project and having a fair bit left over for bit`s an bobs :D

lol try and save what you can and ide keep all the little screws nuts and ect as some you can not get and they are costley cant wait to get cracking with mine again im dying to get the chrome parts on
