I'm building 1380 conversion for fast road use (SW5 cam) . There is quite a big price difference between Omega 73.5 die cast and forged pistons. Are forged pistons a waste of money for road use or money well spent?

personally unless your going to be running serious power ie turbo/supercharged with lots of boost i wouldnt bother with forged just stick to the cast pistons

Normally aspirated but it's the 100 bhp & 100 ft-lb spec. The price difference between the two is £180!

Cast will be fine unless you're going for forced induction/nitrous

Cast Omegas will be more than adequate in any normally aspirated engine.

dont omega has a manufacturing process, that means theres little difference between the strengths of their forged and cast pistons. im sure it makes the cast ones more durable.

So long as you buy quality cast pistons such as the Omegas you should be fine with that engine spec.
