Looking better than ever dude.

had to re-paint the roof as it had a red mark, no like !!!!

you having to work around the 'rat' sticker then or don't you need to do anything around that area?

What do you do as a job anyway, always been curious because of the battery box etc you made!

flatted the boot then stuck on the sticker , so just laquering over it so it don't peel off.
If I sell Ratty they'll be stuck with it .LOL. unless thwy cut it out..



I'm a welder/fabricator by trade.

But now I work for a carriage buiders.

Thought it was something like that, thats what im going on to do when i leave.

Crap time to get an apprenticeship atm though, been sorting college ou the past few weeks so i'll do fab and weld there for a year, can't wait.

My eldest is 14 atm and he's put his name on it for when he learns to drive..
Thing is old cars could be outlawed by then the way it's going .

Well went to Newark mini show today, not bad, got myself : 16 wheelnuts, drive shaft oil seals,
boot seal, bonnet seal, and door seals, all I wanted. and saw some nice minis..
also this afto gave the front end a good coating of laquer, then I decided to flat off the main
shell, doors etc ready for another layer of laquer, possibly tomorrow evening..

blanked off the old filler neck.



welded the neck in the new position, can access through the boot
lid, and painted





also took a pic of the laquered front end , now needs flatting

I haven't posted a comment on your thread before, but I look at it so much, I've read it through many times, and I think the quality of your work is brilliant! I wish that I had the skills that you have. This is one mini I will definately be looking out for at shows in the future.

Dude your work is imence, i hope i can learn skills like yours when im older, its insane, and as we all know, the best things come from insanity (or forgetfulness)

I hope your fitting some kind of allarm/ tracker/ imobaliser to him, would be a real shame for you to have put all that work into this masterpiece to have it nicked.

Did you clean the tank out before you welded it?
my dad wouldnt let me anywhere near my empty fuel tank with anything other than a wire brush, because he was so scared of me blowing the house up!

Did you clean the tank out before you welded it?
my dad wouldnt let me anywhere near my empty fuel tank with anything other than a wire brush, because he was so scared of me blowing the house up!

I emptied it out as much as possible then filled it with water and rinsed it out (the remaining fuel
came out with the water) then I just left the tank outside for a few days, with the heat anything
left evaporated, no problems with it today when i cut and welded it..

the only way you learn skills is by having a go, you can always ask for advise....
