Are you gonna laquer it? If not how are you gonna smooth the mask line between the red and white?

going to flat both solid colours (1200+) then laquer with a 2k laquer, flat and polish using
a mop and Farcela compound.

Thought as much, I plan to do a similar job on the clubby (thck band down each side) and was just curious.

At this stage you've got to paint it yourself, i'd be dissapointed if you didnt! ;)

Don't paint it in topcoat then flat and laquer as you'll likely get laquer peel somewhere or a reaction if you don't leave the colour a good while to harden off.

Basecoat your darkest colour first then mask off and basecoat your light colour, unmask and laquer the lot.

You can get special lining tape for masking your line to stop bleed through which looks naff.

Last night flatted down the 2k on the roof but it must have been too dry when
sprayed as it was taking ages to flat the guide coat out, used a
coarser grit paper like an idiot and went through to the beige
filler also scored the primer :(
so flatted down all over the roof with a finer grade and left.

Had a word with the sprayer at work and he said to add more thinner
than recommended, so I bought another 1lt and added extra thinner.
Re-sprayed the roof ,then the rest of the car. Primer is a lot smoother
now :)
I'll try and get some white from work tomorrow and flat down ready for
top coating.

If I can get the white done during the week I may be able to get the
red on over the weekend, hopefully laquered by the mid/end of next week.
That would be a big booster for me!!!!!
