holy crap - haven't been on TMF for yonks, but I had this thread saved in my "favourites" - you've really gone to town on this one now haven't you?!?!?

might as well do everything i want to do.

And are you SURE you're gonna have it finished for May?

mind you, I can't really talk - sold my mini for £52 on fleabay, and the V12 hasn't even moved an inch since I got it over 6 months ago! lol!

not able to go in the garage this weekend as i'm at the coast
visiting my inlaws, hope to go in tomorrow evening if
i get back early enough ...

I managed to get in the garage when I got back from the east coast
today, rubbed down the filled imperfections and resprayed again, used nearly
2.5 lt of 1k filler primer at the moment. a good base for for the final flat
down.

mrs got some Paynes Poppets today, I had some toffee ones
had a great pic on the box ..

got a txt at work from my mrs today, said part of my garage roof had
been taken off by the wind . got home and luckily it was only a small
part on the front . luckily no damage at all to the Mini.
spent an hour patching up the hole... now all ok.....

well been out for a bit tonight, worked 7 till 7.30 yesterday so
didn't get in... primed up my external door hinges then sprayed
the doors and body with some satin black spray for a guide coat

noticed the lines are good when the paint was wet and shiney

It does look good in black... But then it probably looks good in a million other different colours as well, red and white would probably look even better


Those wheels... I actually prefer the look of them on your car than any Mini wheels (in theory lol) i reckon you should keep them on if youve got some centre caps...

Still one of my favorite projects going. Really cant wait to see this finished and im pleased you have put so much effort/time into the prep as iv seen so many amazing project cars be ruind by the prep being rushed and then the end paint finish not being all the greate.

I have to say this, but that is the heaviest guide coat iv ever seen lol, your going to have fun sanding back off all that

They are the only wheels i have got, the car was really built round them..
i do have the centre caps for them so will be using them at first, i am
considering spraying them in an anthracite colour.
hope to get some new wheels later on...

got a bit carried away LOL. put a light coat on then thought i'd like to see what it would look
like in black. hence the heavy coating.... It'll give me something too rub down anyway
