Had to split the front as the shape wasn't very good, not
a brilliant moulding...

Posted Image

used some angle to set the glass in line with the
A panel, and used some old spreaders too.
then opened front and glass matted on the inside,
closed again and allowed to cure.

i luv the side exit exhaust, looks mint, dunno bout the flat front tho

my other minis were bumper less, I never really liked the bulge
where the lip should be ,so as this front is glass I decided to cut it out..
still needs work but I think it looks better..

Good luck Freddy!

Glad to know everyone is well again now.

I'll be interested to see how you dress the outside of those cuts in your FG front, I'm making some FG speaker pods for my doors, no idea how I'm going to make them smooth.

i've used a sander to remove the gell coat and leave a rough surface, i've used
'Wurth' fibre filler (miles better than P40) to fill in the cuts and build up the
sanded area... then i'll fill with polyester filler..

Well been out this afternoon, glassed up the outside of the
wings, shape now pretty good. I then had to swap the tyres on one side
of the min as the tyre hights were slightly different. screwed the
arches in place , then i lifted the front and glassed the arches to the
front end from underneath, tomorrow i'll sand off the gell coat around
the arches and front then glass them together...

Fiber filler eh, I've seen that, never used it though, shall have to get a pot when I've got my general shape sorted.

Thanks Freddy.

in Isopon P40 the fibre glass strands are too long, makes it harder to spread..
Get 'Wurth pro panel fibre' if you can can be sanded and painted straight over..

Or, try mixing it half and half with normal poly filler like Easy Sand for example, makes it almost as strong but sands down alot easier and is easier to apply.
